'Jazz Emu loves you, and don't you forget it!'

Jazz is the main creator of the music and skits, appearing in all of them (vocally or physically). He is quite an egotistical individual, and often likes to find himself in the spotlight

Appearance

Jazz is a tall, thin man, standing at around 6 foot 3 (although he has occasionally made claims that he is 6 foot 8). He has a particularly large forhead, long neck and prominent jawline. His hair is a very dark brown and has generally been kept in a longer, shaggier, style since lockdown - before which it was often worn in a 'short back and sides' style cut. When kept longer, his hair becomes wavy and develops wide curls; it is believed that he curls his hair more for some music videos.

Often dressing in a classic 70's style, Jazz owns a number of patterned shirts with wide collars, suede or leather jackets and wide-legged trousers. He is frequently seen wearing 70's wire framed glasses, however sometimes he wears orange tinted sunglasses of a similar design. Jazz has his left ear double pierced and usually wears a small gold or silver hoop in both.

Jazz's speaking voice is quite low and crispy, with an unplaceable accent. During a sentence he tends to waver across his vocal range, crossing between higher and lower apparently at random. His voice has changed a bit over the course of his existence as a character; at the start, his voice contained more vocal fry and had more traces of Archie Henderson's native British accent, however in more recent times he has leaned into having a more ambiguously european accent and has stopped having as much vocal fry. His singing range is also quite impressive, being able to go from bass notes to falsetto quite easily.

Abilities

Music - Jazz is a master of a number of instruments, including Electric Sax, Bass Guitar, Piano and Ocarina.

Science - Jazz has cloned himself a number of times now, and has been shown to have a laboratory where he completes other experiments.

Sewing - During Ego Death he sews himself a Morriss Dancing outfit.

Sport - Jazz likes to work out frequently, so that he can get Hench.

Vampire Hunting - During the song 'Elaine' Jazz is employed as a vampire hunter, sent to kill Elaine the vampire after many complaints from the villagers about her.

Relationships

Bonson Bonsonson - Jazz's Nephew/ Stage Manager/ Manservant. Jazz took him under his wing after the death of Bonson's father and then has consistently used Bonson as an unpaid errands boy instead of taking proper care of him. This eventually lead to Bonson's kidnapping and contraction of edwardian gout. Despite having a more 'boss, employee' relationship, they both still seem somewhat affectionate for each other at times.

Bosman Tunk - Jazz's father. If still in the lore, Jazz took much of his inspiration from Bosman, evident in his music and his fashion sense. Bosman taught Jazz all he knew, as long as it was maracca based. Unfortunately, once Bosman found out that Jazz had been crafting other instruments out of maraccas, he became infuriated and left, never to be seen again.

Bronchman Emu - Jazz's father. They appear to have a strained relationship, due to Bronchman's constant dissapointment in Jazz for abandoning his foley training in pursuit of music, making Jazz one of the first in the Emu family line to not go into foley.

Eggerson Keaveny - Jazz's best friend. Jazz spends a lot of time with Eggerson and seems to not mind any of Eggerson's strange or worrying habits. They hang out frequently, many of these involving committing petty crimes together.

Grahamothy Brartholomew Emu - Jazz's brother. Due to Grahamothy's death it is unknown what their relationship was like, however it is implied they had a good relationship through Jazz's referral to him as 'my dear brother' and the fact that Grahamothy died while hurrying to make it on time to one of Jazz's performances.

Mother Emu - Jazz's mother. It is unknown what their relationship is like, due to Mother only being mentioned once or twice. It is unclear if she is still living. As a baby, Jazz had to be fished out of a grand piano by her after being dropped in.

Shadow Jazz - Jazz's Clone. For the most part they have an antagonistic relationship; Jazz spends the majority of the album trying to get back at Shadow while Shadow spends the album provoking him in return. Eventually, they come to understand their differences and reach a more friendly relationhsip, just before Jazz Emu rips off his limbs and absorbs him (in good nature).

Shy Clone - Jazz's Clone. The two are fully aware of each other and often spend time together, engaging in a dance off to announce the release of Jazz's first album. They have many affectionate interactions, mostly where Jazz is trying to comfort Shy Clone through the use of many compliments. Sometimes they are seen sharing a bunkbed and it is implied that at one point the two had sex after the events of 'How to Seduce Your Crush'.

Ulla - Jazz's friend/co-worker. The two are implied to be fairly close and act friendly to each other, Ulla being one of the only people that Jazz has told about his music. However, Ulla hasn't been allowed to listen to any of Jazz's music yet.

Venitia Sprinkles - Jazz's ex-partner/therapist.

Trivia

Apparently, the reason for why Jazz's voice is majority vocal fry is because he once ate a paricularly spikey crisp.
Jazz schedules a minute of sponteneity every hour, on the hour.
As a baby, he was dropped into a grand piano and had to be fished out by his mother. This is one of the only times that Jazz's mother is mentioned.
Jazz struggles with change, with a number of songs stating that he wished the world could go 'back to how it was'.
He has a particular fixation on bringing back public executions and has a petition for it, which he mentions in two different songs.
Jazz doesnt understand some ideas around certain societal expectations and behaviours, this is especially apparent in his song 'Nice'.
Frequently, Jazz is very socially awkward and struggles to identify tone.
He once tried to eat a lava lamp.
It is implied that he is bisexual - through his relationships with men and women. Past relationships have included:
